BLOCKAGE AVOIDANCE IN SUBSEA INJECTION AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

Homepage

Welcome to the BASICS JIP website

The BASICS JIP was established following an initiative between the UMF (Umbilical Manufacturers Federation) and the SUT (Society for Underwater Technology), which brought the importance of the issue to the fore within the industry. The aim of the JIP is to prevent blockages from occurring in subsea chemical injection and control systems.

The JIP has two main objectives:

  • To develop a recommend practice document in respect of the handling / usage and control of service fluids used offshore in subsea injection and control systems.
  • Develop a standard for qualifying service fluids for transmission in subsea injection and control systems.

And will also require:

  • A review of design standards which are applicable and relevant to subsea chemical injection and control system blockages.
